This class focuses on finding an effortless way to move through space using minimal excess energy. Movement sequences in the exercises emphasize weight distribution and spinal mobility. In the approach, we propel the body forward, harnessing accumulated kinetic energy and the natural continuation and relaxation of body parts stimulated by the flow of movement.

Drawn from Contact Improvisation (Steve Paxton), Capoeira, and Animal Flow, this practice distills diverse movement influences into a framework grounded in somatic inquiry. The foundation of the flow centers on our relationship to the floor and space, initiating from the eyes and spine, with the core principle that release is a form of recharging. Through imagination, dancers understand the body’s endless possibilities, designed to help refine their choices and adapt physical propositions to their unique movement identity and physique.
